My research areas are defined by the intersection of feminisms and technical communication. Feminist Technical Communication explores just that intersection and many of the sites of confluence—healthcare, risk, environmental rhetorics—for these two disciplines. This book builds upon my 2013 dissertation “Theorizing an Apparent Feminism in Technical Communication,” which won the Conference on College Composition and Communication Outstanding Dissertation Award in Technical Communication. My work has appeared in Computers and Composition, Journal of Business and Technical Communication, Technical Communication Quarterly, Programmatic Perspectives, and Peitho: Journal of the Coalition of Feminist Scholars in the History of Rhetoric & Composition. (My older publications can be found under the surname Frost.) The same theoretical commitments that inform my research also guide my teaching; I hope my students describe me as fair, collaborative, curious, and open-minded.

This conference looks really cool!
The Health Humanities Consortium will hold its 3rd annual conference in Houston, Texas on March 9-11, 2017. The conference, themed “Diversity, Cultures, and Health Humanities,” is being jointly hosted by the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s McGovern Medical School and McGovern Center for Humanities and Ethics.
